Monday Trivia: Special Edition--Black History Month Pt 1 & 2
On Mondays, February 8 & 15 at 7 pm, the Englewood Library presents special editions of its trivia series, focusing on the infinite contributions of African-Americans. The February 15 edition will focus on Englewood. Students, trivia buffs and those who just enjoy an entertaining hour are all welcome. Evanston's Living History--Screening followed by Q & A with the filmmaker Craig Dudnick
On Wednesday, February 10 at 7 p.m., Filmmaker Craig Dudnick will present this documentary followed by Q & A. "Evanston's Living History” takes a close look at an African American community's struggle for justice; from tragedy in South Carolina through the Great Migration, to the Civil Rights struggles of the 1960s and to the first formal apology from the United States Senate for the failure of the Senate to enact anti-lynching legislation. The Stephen Fuller Band -- “The Music of Lionel Richie”
On Saturday, February 13, 7 p.m. via Livestream, the Stephen Fuller Band presents “The Music of Lionel Richie”, chronicling the legendary artist’s work from The Commodores through his years topping the charts as a solo act. Thomas Monroe -- "Famous African-Americans of Englewood"
Historian Thomas Monroe will present "Famous African-Americans of Englewood" on Tuesday, February 16 at 7 pm. Mr. Monroe was instrumental in the Historical Society's Englewood exhibits and will expand beyond his previous work in this Zoom presentation. Mr. Monroe will also regale us with stories of his personal relationships with some of those noted in his talk. For more information, please contact programming@englewood.bccls.org

Celebrating Englewood’s Black Churches
On Thursday, February 18 at 7 p.m. The Englewood Public Library celebrates Englewood’s Black churches. Representatives from several of Englewood's Black churches will discuss their church's history, their mission, and their message for the Englewood community via Zoom. Assemblyman Gordon Johnson
The Englewood Public Library will interview Assemblyman Gordon Johnson on Wednesday, February 24 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. In addition, Johnson was an Englewood police officer for 24 years, and was also a council member. In 2001, Johnson became Bergen County Sheriff and was the first African-American to hold countywide office in Bergen and was the first African-American Sheriff in Bergen County.
