Englewood
City Manager’s Office P.O. Box 228 · Englewood, N.J. 07631 · (201) 871-6637 · Fax (201) 567-3678
February 12, 2024 – 12:30 p.m.
A winter weather advisory will develop during the overnight hours tonight. It is in effect until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2023. Rain then snow is expected with snow accumulations of 6 to 9 inches possibly more predicted. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday morning and evening commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
If you are able to park in your driveway, please do so to assist in the snow plowing process. Street parking will make it extremely difficult for plows to maneuver through streets due to accumulation.
We encourage everyone to stay off the roads to allow our Public Works Department to properly clear the roadways.
During the snowfall, the Police and Public Works Departments will be working to enforce snow parking restrictions as per City Ordinance § 25-21 Parking during Snow Accumulation.
The following streets are not to be parked on while streets are snow covered:
Grand Avenue Tenafly Road
Engle Street Knickerbocker Road
Dean Street Liberty Road
Palisade Avenue Van Nostrand Avenue
Dana Place William Street
Broad Avenue North & South Woodland
Van Brunt Street West Hudson Avenue
West & East Englewood Avenue Lafayette Place
Lafayette Avenue Booth Avenue
West Forest Avenue East Linden Avenue
Jones Road Lydecker Street
For a detailed list of streets and parking restrictions visit the following: http://www.ecode360.com/documents/EN2705/EN2705-025m%20Sched%20XIII.pdf
The City will offer parking in Liberty School Parking Lot, Mackay Park Parking Lot on the William Street and Englewood Avenue side and Veteran’s Lot.
These parking lots will be available to residents with the understanding that once you park, the lot will not be cleared until the primary roadways are properly addressed.
Please do not place any garbage cans in the roadway because it will prevent the Public Works Department from properly plowing the street. Tuesday’s garbage pick-up is still scheduled. Please place cans on the curb not in the street.
The Police Department will ensure that the ordinance is enforced which may lead to tickets, tows and/or fines.
For your safety, the Fire Department would like anyone with property on or adjacent to a fire-hydrant to please assist by shoveling around the hydrant to insure access in case of emergency.
