Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 alternating traffic tonight in Englewood, Bergen County
Route 4 westbound ramp to Jones Road to be closed and detoured
(Trenton) – Jones Road is scheduled to have alternating traffic on the Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 for watermain installation as a bridge replacement project advances in Englewood, Bergen County. In addition, the Route 4 westbound ramp to Jones Road will be closed and detoured.
Beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, Friday, May 17, until 6 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, May 18, one lane on the Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 will be closed for watermain installation. Alternating traffic will be maintained on Jones Road during construction. Motorists are advised to slow down, us caution and expect delays or plan an alternate route.
In addition, beginning at 10 p.m. tonight, Friday, May 17, until 6 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, May 18, the Route 4 westbound ramp to Jones Road will the closed and detoured to assist with the watermain installation on Jones Road. The following detour will be in place:
Route 4 westbound to Jones Road northbound Detour:

Motorists on Route 4 westbound wishing to take the Jones Road exit will be directed to take the ramp to Van Brunt Street/Englewood/Englewood South Industrial Park

Turn right onto West Forest Avenue

Turn right onto South Dean Street

Turn left onto Van Nostrand Avenue

Turn left onto Jones Road
The $20.7 million federally funded project will replace the Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 in Englewood Bergen County. The new bridge will be approximately three feet higher to improve under-clearance issues on Route 4. Work is expected to be complete in the summer of 2025.
