Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 and interchange ramps to be closed and detoured this weekend in Englewood
Closures necessary to clean and seal bridge decks
(Trenton) – The Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 and the Jones Road/Route 4 interchange ramps are scheduled to be closed and detoured this weekend as the bridge replacement project nears completion in Englewood, Bergen County.
Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 Closure
Beginning at 8 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, September 19 until 6 a.m. Monday, September 22, Jones Road is scheduled to be closed and detoured in both directions to clean and seal bridge decks. By 6 a.m. Monday, September 22, Jones Road northbound will reopen, and Jones Road southbound will remain closed and detoured. The following detours will be in place:
Jones Road northbound Detour:
- Motorists on Jones Road northbound will be directed to Edgewood Road
- Turn left onto Nordhoff Drive
- Turn right onto Grandview Terrace
- Turn right onto Hillside Avenue
- Turn right onto Broad Avenue
- Turn right onto Van Nostrand Avenue
- Turn left onto Jones Road
Jones Road southbound Detour:
- Motorists on Jones Road southbound will be directed to turn right onto Van Nostrand Avenue
- Turn left onto Broad Avenue
- Turn left onto Hillside Avenue
- Turn left onto Grandview Terrace
- Turn left onto Nordhoff Drive
- Turn right onto Edgewood Road
- Turn left onto Jones Road
Jones Road/Route 4 Interchange Ramp Closures
In addition, beginning at 8 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, September 19 until 6 a.m. Monday, September 22, the ramps from Jones Road to Route 4 and the ramps from Route 4 to Jones Road are scheduled to be closed and detoured to clean and seal bridge decks. By 6 a.m. Monday, September 22, the ramps connecting Jones Road northbound and Route 4 will reopen, and the ramps connecting Jones Road southbound and Route 4 will remain closed and detoured. The following detours will be in place:
Jones Road northbound to Route 4 westbound Detour:
- Motorists on Jones Road northbound will be directed to Edgewood Road
- Turn left onto Nordhoff Drive
- Turn right onto Grandview Terrace
- Turn right onto Hillside Avenue
- Turn right onto Route 93/Grand Avenue
- Go under Route 4 and take the ramp to Route 4 westbound
Jones Road northbound to Route 4 eastbound Detour:
- Motorists on Jones Road northbound will be directed to turn right on Kenwood Street, which is before the bridge closure
- Turn right onto Route 4 eastbound
Jones Road southbound to Route 4 westbound Detour:
- Motorists on Jones Road southbound will be directed to turn right onto Van Nostrand Avenue
- Turn left onto Route 93/Grand Avenue
- Turn right to take the ramp onto Route 4 westbound
Jones Road southbound to Route 4 eastbound Detour:
- Motorists on Jones Road southbound will be directed to turn right onto Van Nostrand Avenue
- Turn left onto Route 93/Grand Avenue
- Go under Route 4 and turn right to take the ramp onto Route 4 eastbound
Route 4 eastbound to Jones Road Detour:
- Motorists on Route 4 eastbound wishing to take the Jones Road exit will be directed to take the next exit for Kenwood Street back to Jones Road
- Motorists wishing to take Jones Road northbound will be directed to turn left onto Jones Road
- Turn right onto Edgewood Road
- Turn left onto Nordhoff Drive
- Turn right onto Grandview Terrace
- Turn right onto Hillside Avenue
- Turn right onto Broad Avenue
- Turn right onto Van Nostrand Avenue
- Turn left onto Jones Road
Route 4 westbound to Jones Road northbound Detour:
- Motorists on Route 4 westbound wishing to take the Jones Road exit will be directed to take the ramp to Van Brunt Street/Englewood/Englewood South Industrial Park
- Turn right onto West Forest Avenue
- Turn right onto South Dean Street
- Turn left onto Van Nostrand Avenue
- Turn left onto Jones Road
Route 4 westbound to Jones Road southbound Detour:
- Motorists on Route 4 westbound wishing to take the Jones Road exit will be directed to take the exit for Route 93 southbound/Grand Avenue/Leonia
- Continue on Route 93 southbound/Grand Avenue southbound
- Turn left onto Hillside Avenue
- Turn left onto Grandview Terrace
- Turn left onto Nordhoff Drive
- Turn right onto Edgewood Road
- Turn left onto Jones Road
The $20.7 million federally funded project will replace the Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 in Englewood, Bergen County. The new bridge will be approximately three feet higher to improve under-clearance issues on Route 4. Work is expected to be completed in fall 2025.
