[ARCHIVED] Winter Weather Announcement from City Manager - 1-28-22

Winter Storm Warning is in effect for our area from 7pm this evening until 7pm Saturday. Heavy snow and wind gusts as high as 35mph are expected.

We encourage everyone to stay off the roads to allow public works to properly clear the roadways.

During the snowfall in order to make our roads safe and passable, the Police and Public Works Departments will be working to enforce snow parking restrictions as per City Ordinance § 25-21 Parking during Snow Accumulation.

Please be mindful that many of our City streets fall under Schedule XIII of City Ordinance 25-21 which establishes temporary prohibited parking for snow removal. REMEMBER: This prohibited parking ordinance will be enforced once there is approximately 3 inches of accumulation. Should you leave your vehicle on one of these streets during a snow storm, there is a possibility that it may be towed. Parking prohibitions are temporarily suspended until such time we deem them appropriate to resume.

The following streets are not to be parked on while streets are snow covered:

Grand Avenue                                                            Tenafly Road

The Police Department will ensure that the ordinance is enforced which may be subject to tickets, tows and/or fines.

The City will offer parking in Parking Garage, Liberty School Parking Lot, Mackay Park parking lot on the William Street and Englewood Avenue side, Gatehouse parking lot on the Englewood Avenue side, Veteran’s Lot. These parking lots will be available to residents with the understanding that once you park, the lot will not be cleared until the primary roadways are properly addressed.
