The Criminal Investigations Division consists of the Detective Bureau, Juvenile Bureau, Evidence Unit and Bias Crimes Unit. The primary objective of the Criminal Investigations Division is conducting general criminal investigations of crimes committed by adult offenders. Additionally, the Criminal Investigations Division investigates missing person cases, unattended and suspicious deaths, and fatal overdose deaths. Detectives have specialized knowledge, training and expertise in diverse areas of investigations, including homicide, robbery, sex crimes, burglary, fraud, arson, auto theft, and more. Additionally, the Criminal Investigations Division is also responsible for monitoring active Megan’s Law registrations, as well as ABC licenses within the City of Englewood.
