FREE Radon Home Test Kits for Englewood Residents!

In recognition of Radon Action Month, the Englewood Department of Health is launching its Radon Awareness Program and offering 175 FREE home radon test kits to Englewood residents.

Kits will be available beginning January 2026 and must be picked up in person at:
Englewood Department of Health
73 S. Van Brunt Street, Englewood, NJ

Supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Each kit includes:
Radon test
Prepaid shipping label
Clear testing and mailing instructions

Testing your home is the only way to know your radon levels—and an important step in protecting your household’s health.

The Bergen County Department of Health Service's Division of Mental Health & Addiction Services will be offering FREE Mental Health First Aid courses (adult and youth) for the public. Please visit their website for additional information.

Food Safety 101

Food Handlers Courses in English and Spanish - Upcoming Classes for Winter and Spring 

The Englewood Health Department offers a Food Handler Certification Course and Exam in both English and Spanish for our city's restaurant employees. This 3-hour course covers personal hygiene, safe methods of food handling, preparation and storage of food, prevention of food-borne illness and hand washing. At the end of the class, an examination will be administered to receive your 3-year certification. The cost of the course and exam is $50. Payments must be made in person after registration. We accept Cash/Checks. If using a check, please make payments out to "Englewood Health Department."  Fees are non-refundable. Class may be rescheduled due to unforeseen/unplanned circumstances. Students who do not show up for a scheduled class or call to reschedule prior to class will be charged a $15 fee for course materials. Complete the form on the right to register!
